Steam Flow Meter - Vortex Meter, ALVT

           

Vortex flow sensing technology relies on measuring the number of vortex pulses generated by a bluff body immersed in the flow stream. The SMC ALVT Vortex flow meter uses dual sensor technology, producing two independent vortex signals which allows for signal amplification and common mode noise reduction. Our sensors never touch the process fluid; the crystal sensors are bonded behind a stainless steel wall. The electronics pick up the slightest pressure pulsations generated by the vortices through the stainless steel wall. This design allows meters to have an extremely wide turndown while maintaining an almost unlimited upper end and a high pressure rating.

The ALVT is available in both insertion and in-line configurations and comes standard with a number of features that are not availble on competitve products. Our sensor is the thinnest wafer vortex on the market. The meter body bolt lengths are shorter to allow for better flange alignment and tighter, leak-free installations. Our insertion models are uniquely designed so as to prevent miss-alignment of the bluff body in the flow stream; a common problem with many other brands of insertion vortex meters. These advanced features, combined with its low cost, are why the ALVT offers superior value versus other vortex meters found in the marketplace.

Metal Tube Variable Area Meter, ALVAMT

           

SmartMeasurement’s ALVAMT (commonly known as a metal tube flowmeter) is a rugged variable area meter (rotameter) that is ideal for high pressure, high temperature and other demanding flow applications where safety is a concern. Features include: globally-recognized approvals for use in hazardous environments; analog and digital LCD local display options, multiple options for process connection; several available materials of construction for metering of aggressive fluids and corrosion resistance; and HART enabled 4-20mA output to provide for remote monitoring and control.

The ALVAMT's low cost and excellent repeatability makes it a good choice for batching applications. It is also a good choice in applications where no power supply is available as versions without electronic output do not require any power. The ALVAMT's low-pressure drop provides additional value by allowing for economical pump selection.

SP Insertion Thermal Meter, ATMF8000IS

           

SmartMeasurement’s ATMF8000 insertion mass flowmeters are thermal dispersion type, utilizing the constant temperature difference method of measuring Gas Mass Flow Rate. It contains two reference grade platinum RTD sensors clad in a protective 316 SS sheath. Features include direct mass flow for gases , wide rangeability, low pressure drop, excellent low-end sensitivity, and no moving parts. The SMC ATMF series is microprocessor based; it does not have any potentiometers. The electronics can be integral or remote mount with a rugged, windowed dual-compartment enclosure. Four models available ranging from the low cost blind meters to the full-featured SP models.

Each flow meter has built in diagnostics - a display of the calibration milliwatts (mw) can be used to check the sensor’s operation by being compared to the original reported “zero flow” value noted on meter’s Certificate of Conformance metallic tag. This convenient field diagnostic procedure verifies that the original factory calibration hasn’t drifted, shifted, or changed. This “Sensor Functionality and Zero Self Check” also verifies that the sensor is free from contamination, even without inspection.
